TCA Tardy Policy

Promptness is an important aspect of character and a measure of school citizenship. Parents are expected to see that their child/children get to school on time. Students should be seated and ready to begin class when the bell rings at 8:00 a.m. Parents who drop their children off at 8:00 a.m. or anytime thereafter must do the following: Sign your child into school in the school office and state the reason for tardiness on the tardy slip.
Five school tardies equal one unexcused absence plus $3 for the fifth tardy and each subsequent tardy.
School tardies are cumulative and will not be dropped at the end of a nine-week grading period.
Being tardy will prevent students from receiving the perfect attendance award at the end of the school year.
When arriving late, all assignments due that day must be turned in for any subject/classes missed. Students are fully responsible to seek out their teachers to fulfill these responsibilities.
